When I was preparing to write the Casper test, I was incredibly nervous. I was so worried I would not do well and all the hard work I had done to upgrade my Grade 12 Math and Chemistry, as well as my first semester of university, would all be ruined with this one test. You can imagine my excitement when I found out that I scored in the highest percentile. This artifact aligns with my value of integrity as the Casper test evaluates ethics among other values.
The day I received an email from Trent University offering admission to Compressed Nursing was one of the highlights of this journey. I was so excited that I called my family and friends right away. The hard work was so worth it when I received the offer, and shows the value of accountability to myself and my commitment to being a future Registered Nurse.
My first semester at Trent University I achieved an average of 93% and my second semester was close to that average. I was so determined to be accepted into the Compressed Nursing program that nothing was going to stand in my way. The pride I felt when I received that email is unexplainable. I feel this achievement aligns with my value of professionalism, which is something I displayed with my studies and assignments I submitted in my first year.
Of all my artifacts, this is my favourite. This photo is four years old so the kids have grown since then. My family has been so supportive of me going to school as a mature student and following one of my lifelong dreams. This photo signifies all the values together and it is what I am most proud of.
